The World in My Hand

When one of our professors at the De La Salle-Graduate School of Business talked about convergence in the telecommunications industry several years back, it was difficult then to comprehend what he really meant.

After recently acquiring a 3G capable phone, I am simply AWED by the implications of this so-called "convergence".

I can connect to the Internet, send pictures and videos, make video to video calls, send email, play highly interactive games, and listen to the radio --- all through my Sony Ericsson K608i.

I am completely hooked by the comforts offered by these new technologies... I mean imagine if teachers could use these new technologies to conduct "on-demand" tutorials, or have students download interactive lessons through their phones... WOW! ... But I also afraid of some of the possible misuses of these technologies...

I wonder what they will think of next? :)
